Critical setup guidance

Securely suspend the lamp directly overhead—never beside the animal or inside the enclosure—and use only a ceramic-socket fixture rated for 160W or higher. Follow Zoo Med's species- and wattage-specific distance chart, provide a full heat and UVB gradient with shaded retreat areas, and verify both basking temperature and UVI with appropriate meters. Screen mesh reduces UVB transmission; glass and most plastics block UVB.

Operate for 10–12 hours during the daytime. Do not use this lamp with a dimmer, rheostat or voltage-reducing thermostat; PowerSun lamps require proper line voltage. Use indoors in dry conditions only, never over an aquarium. Replace after 12 months of use to maintain optimal UVB output.

Disposal: This lamp contains mercury. Handle and dispose of it according to applicable lamp-recycling and local disposal requirements.
